As part of the visit to the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Srpska Vojin Mitrović, as a member of the delegation led by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković, attended a meeting in Trieste with Massimiliano Fedriga, the President of this region.

Fedriga is also the President of the Italian region for the establishment of cross-border economic and business cooperation.

The goal of the visit to Italy is to strengthen economic cooperation, to present the economic potential of the Republic of Srpska, as well as to strengthen cooperation in the field of education.

“We are continuously working on improving the business environment, we have reduced business costs, we are simultaneously improving the administration, and we are working on the digitisation of administrative procedures“, Mitrović said.

He also pointed out that the Republic of Srpska had introduced a certain set of incentive measures to support investors in the introduction of new technologies, digitisation, and support with the aim of increasing salaries for workers, in order to retain the existing workforce, and the Ministry is available to every individual investor in terms of support both when obtaining information about investment conditions and during the investment implementation.

Mitrović emphasized the visit’s exceptional importance, taking into account that the volume of foreign trade exchange between the Republic of Srpska and Italy in 2022 amounted to EUR 954.82 million, which ranked Italy in the second place among the countries with which the Republic of Srpska achieved the highest foreign trade turnover in 2022. Also, according to data from the Central Bank, Italy is the second largest foreign investor in the Republic of Srpska, with total investments of EUR 301.4 million.

“We will present the investment potentials in the Republic of Srpska, we will meet with representatives of the business community, and continue to build the already extremely successful cooperation with the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region“, Mitrović said.
