4. BRIEF PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Bearing in mind that the municipality of Pale, given its proximity to the JahorinA Olympic Center, will become a recognisable tourist destination, the establishment of natural gas delivery will preserve nature and reduce the level of air pollution by using natural gas as an energy source to a greater extent. The gasification project on the territory of the municipality of Pale will involve several economic entities, and the most important is the reconstruction of the heating pipes and the construction of a new boiler house in the Heating plant, which would have the possibility of using natural gas. Without the gasification of the municipality of Pale, the economy will not be able to develop or maintain the existing economic development.
The project also envisages the gasification of the Jahorina Olympic Center, which occupies a significant share in the economy of Pale/Trnovo municipalities. The use of gas in the ski center increases the security of energy supply and reduces the level of air pollution.
Establishing the delivery of natural gas will create the possibility of attracting new investors, and thus the employment of the population and the economic development of the eastern part of the Republic of Srpska.

5. DETAILED PROJECT DATA

The project envisages the construction of the primary high-pressure gas distribution network, MRS-KPG, GMRS, MROS and other elements.

MRS-KPG (measurement and regulation station for compressed natural gas)

Station characteristics: Q= 12,500 Nm3/h, p1 = 220/15 bar, p2 = 10/7 bar
Components: hot water boiler room, gas heaters, distribution gas lines, heat lines, equipment housing, turbine flow meter, trailer discharge elements, oil separator with connections, valves, regulators, safety valves, filters, fittings, etc.

GMRS (main metering and regulation stations)

Station characteristics: Q = 15,000 m³/h, pul. = 50 bar, piz. = 8 – 16 bar
Constituent parts: receiving cleaning station (PČS), gas pipelines, block station, cathodic protection system, telemetry, equipment housing, turbine and rotary gauge, valves, block valves, regulators, filters, fittings, etc.

MROS (measurement regulation odorisation station) Pale

Characteristics of the station: Q = 5,000 m³/h, pul. = 8 – 16 bar, pizl. = 4.0 bar
Constituent parts: turbine and rotary gauge with electronic correctors, cathodic protection system, equipment housing, valves, block valves, regulators, filters, fittings, etc.

MROS (measuring regulation odorisation station) Jahorina

Station characteristics: Q = 6,000 m³/h, pul. = 8 – 16 bar, pizl. = 4.0 bar
Constituent parts: turbine and rotary gauge with electronic correctors, cathodic protection system, equipment housing, valves, regulators, filters, fittings, etc.

Primary high-pressure gas network, steel gas pipeline 8 (16) bar (Pale/Jahorina)

Steel gas pipeline made of seamless pipes with PE smoke protection. Ø 168.3 x 4.5 mm, length approx. 11.5 km complete with fittings, valves and other necessary elements.

WHAT TYPE OF PROJECT IS IT?

It is a Greenfield type of project.

PROJECT DOCUMENTATION STATUS

The Government of the Republic of Srpska number: 04/1-012-2-2057/23 dated 15.06.2023, submitted Conclusion on granting consent to “Sarajevo-gas” a.d. Eastern Sarajevo for credit debt with the issuance of a guarantee from the Republic of Srpska, the “Study of gasification of the eastern part of the Republic of Srpska” was prepared and the project documentation is underway.

REASONS TO INVEST IN THE PROJECT

The advantages of the project are:
– environmental Protection,
– increase in housing,
– that electricity will no longer be used to heat buildings,
– greater comfort for future users using natural gas,
– the introduction of another energy source provides greater security of energy supply,
– improving the operations of the company “Sarajevo-gas” a.d.,
– employment of local population,
– improving the business of local companies.

7. HAS THE PHYSICAL LOCATION BEEN DETERMINED FOR PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION?

The location is determined on the territory of the municipality of Pale, Pale (Jahorina) and Trnovo (Jahorina) and is shown in the attachment (route of the future primary high-pressure gas distribution network and position of MRS-KPG, GMRS, MROS).

8. HAVE PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION ACTIVITIES ALREADY STARTED?

The “Study of gasification of the eastern part of the Republic of Srpska” was prepared in March 2023 by “Planing” d.o.o. Prnjavor, “Partner inženjering” d.o.o. Banja Luka and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Banja Luka.
