3. LOCATION

HPP “Bileća” is one of the hydropower plants of the Gornji Horizonti system and its location is on the territory of the municipality of Bileća.

4. BRIEF PROJECT DESCRIPTION

HPP “Bileća” uses water from the upstream steps of HPP “Dabar” and HPP “Nevesinje”, as well as water from Dabarski and Fatničko polje. The waters of Dabarsko polje will be brought through the canal through Dabarsko polje and through the connected tunnel Dabaarsko-Fatničko polje into Fatničko polje and further together with the waters of Fatničko polje through the channel through Fatničko polje into the tunnel of HPP “Bileća”, whose catchment is located on the southwestern edge of Fatničko polje. In this way, by introducing water into the “Bileća” reservoir, in addition to the production of electricity at the HPP “Bileća”, the drainage of the Dabarski and Fatnica fields is also carried out.

Hydroelectric power plant HE “Bileća” is a derivation plant consisting of:

  • Swimming pool in front of the entrance building
  • Entrance buildings (in operation since the construction of the tunnel in 2005)
  • Supply tunnel (Fatničko polje-Bileć reservoir tunnel, completed and partially lined)
  • Outlet with high-speed flow (in operation since the construction of the tunnel in 2005)
  • Water station
  • Closing sections
  • Supply tunnel to the machine building
  • Mechanical buildings
  • Drainage bodies (drainage tunnels and outfall buildings)

HPP “Bileća” is a facility of HE company in Trebišnjica and is 100% owned by the company.

A conceptual project was created, a concession was obtained, the procedure for obtaining location conditions and preparation of the study for obtaining an environmental permit is in progress.

The exact location of the hydropower plant is defined by the preliminary design and the previously built facilities. Property relations were also resolved.

8. HAVE THE ACTIVITIES ON THE PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION ALREADY STARTED? (for example. permit issued for… feasibility study done, etc.)

Activities on this project started back in the 80s of the last century.
The conceptual project was created in 1987.
Excavation of the derivation tunnel has begun.
In 2005, the 16,565 m long tunnel was completed, the construction of the entrance building was completed, and a rapid flow was built to transfer water to Bilećko Lake. In 2015, a new conceptual project was created. The concrete lining is currently being worked on and in 2024 we will have a derivation tunnel completely covered in concreted.
All facilities that are in the critical section of the path have been completed. It remains to ensure the construction of the machine building, the supply tunnel to the machine building, the water level and drainage bodies to the lake.
