The Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Srpska, Vjekoslav Petričević, held a meeting in Banja Luka with the director of the company “Iskra-Mehanizmi” from Slovenia, Stefan Hornivius.

Hornivius introduced Petričević to the business of the company in the field of electrical and mechanical industry, which has a modern plant for the production of personal care appliances and parts for the automotive industry in the area of ​​Gradiška and employs about 200 workers. He outlined plans to expand capacity in the coming period and hire additional workers.

Minister Petričević pointed out the readiness of the Ministry to support export-oriented economic entities, which are related to the procurement of modern technologies and equipment, as well as development and innovation. He said that the Government of Republic of Srpska would support the processing industry in 2022, and added that Mechanisms B was an example of a successful company whose products are finding their way on the European and world market.

As a stimulative measure, Petričević pointed out the support regarding the payment of incentives to economic entities that have increased the salaries of workers, and that this very company was the user of subsidies for increasing the salaries of its workers.

The interlocutors touched on the current situation and challenges in business during the corona virus pandemic, but also assessed that there is a possibility of attracting new investors who plan to move part of the production to the territory of Republic of Srpska.
