The Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Srpska, Vjekoslav Petričević, held on Friday, July 23, 2021 a meeting with representatives of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Trebinje as well as with local businessmen.
It was pointed out at the meeting that the launch of free industrial zones is a great chance for the Republic of Srpska due to its geographical position, as well as being important for attracting investors whose production would be free of VAT and customs duties.
Petričević stated that the first free zone in Srpska could be opened by the end of this year, expecting it to attract a significant number of investors and create jobs. Elaborations, documentation, infrastructure are currently being intensively prepared.
He pointed out that the goal was to attract investors to Herzegovina and the Republic of Srpska through free zones, adding that the city of Trebinje was preparing and would submit the necessary documentation to the Ministry.
He emphasized this providing the opportunity to both domestic and foreign investors to operate more successfully and competitively in those zones.
A the meeting they also discussed how to improve the status of businessmen from Trebinje and Herzegovina, especially bearing in mind that from year to year the Government of Srpska was allocating greater funds to support businessmen, primarily the processing industry, especially for the purchase of new technologies, which is crucial for maintaining positive economic activity in Srpska.
The Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Srpska, Vjekoslav Petričević, continued his visit to the plants of the Dineko company from Trebinje, where he attended the organized vaccination of workers, and afterwards visited the plant of the Monting Energetika company in Bileća, where he talked with the company’s management about the operations of that economic entity, the current economic situation in Herzegovina, plans and measures of support of the Government of the Republic of Srpska.
