The Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship has adopted the Rulebook on Criteria for Assessing the Economic Justification of Establishing a Free Zone, which prescribes criteria for assessing the economic justification of establishing and changing the boundaries of free zones on the territory of the Republic of Srpska.
The Rulebook was adopted in accordance with the new Law on Free Zones of the Republic of Srpska, which entered into force in March this year.
In addition to the legal obligation, the reason for the adoption of this Rulebook is the need to regulate in more detail the criteria for assessing the economic justification of the establishment of a free zone. The stated criteria are enumerated and elaborated in this Rulebook in order to obtain the most precise parameters that will be evaluated by the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship.
Although only the plans are evaluated on the basis of this Rulebook, i.e. the assessments listed in the study on the economic justification of the establishment of a free zone, its adoption sought to prescribe as clear and precise criteria as possible, which aim to facilitate the assessment of the economic justification of the establishment of a free zone zones, on the one hand, but also to clearly present to the potential founder or founders of the free zone the parameters that must be met.
All the criteria prescribed by this Rulebook will be applied accordingly to the change of the boundaries of the free zone.
The Rulebook on Criteria for Assessing the Economic Justification of the Establishment of a Free Zone was published on June 15, 2021 in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Srpska, No. 54/21.
